North of town and full of personality, Asheton Park and Asheton Lakes combine mature trees, custom homes, and true community charm — here’s why they’re my favorite neighborhoods north of Auburn.

From real estate to local life, I’m always sharing what’s happening in Auburn. Let’s connect so you never miss what’s new around town!

Just north of Auburn, tucked between North College Street and Highway 280, you’ll find two of my favorite neighborhoods: Asheton Park and Asheton Lakes. If you’re looking for a home that feels like a peaceful retreat but still keeps you close to town, this area is a must-see.

What Makes It So Special?

Let’s start with the homes. These neighborhoods have real variety—you’ll see everything from charming late ‘90s homes to brand-new builds. That means no cookie-cutter streets, just a beautiful blend of architecture and personality.

The mature trees and landscaped yards make it feel like you’re living in the woods (in the best way). There’s even a neighbor who told me it’s “like living in a forest”—and she’s right.

Friendly Faces & Front Porches

Resident Dawn Schuler shared that she’s lived in Asheton Park for 24 years—and she’s not going anywhere. From quiet cul-de-sacs and block parties to close-knit neighbors who’ve stayed for decades, it’s a true community.

There’s not a lot of turnover here, which tells you something. People come, fall in love with the neighborhood, and stay.

Location Perks

These neighborhoods give you the best of both worlds: convenient access to downtown Auburn and quick connection to 280 for commuters or those headed to Birmingham or Lake Martin. Plus, you’re still close to schools, shopping, and recreation.

If you’re looking for a place where neighbors wave from their porches, trees line every street, and the layout feels just as charming as the people, Asheton Park and Asheton Lakes are calling your name.
