I Love Where I Live
My Favorite Plant Spot on Lake Martin: Linda’s at Walnut Hill
If you know me, you know I love flowers — and there’s one place on Lake Martin where I can never leave empty-handed. Linda’s at Walnut Hill has been my go-to garden spot for years. From overflowing ferns to cheerful mixed pots, it’s where my yard (and my heart) get a seasonal refresh.

From real estate to local life, I’m always sharing what’s happening in Auburn. Let’s connect so you never miss what’s new around town!
Let me tell you where I spend the most money on the lake — and no, it’s not on gas for the boat. It’s Linda’s at Walnut Hill, right at the corner of Highways 49 and 50. This little garden center has been around for 29 years, and if you’ve ever driven by, you know why it’s stood the test of time.
Linda herself has been a grower for 34 years. She knows her stuff, and she knows her customers. I can’t tell you how many times she’s talked me out of buying something I’d definitely kill. (Which is often. I try, okay?)
What does Linda sell? A little bit of everything: ferns, flowering plants, mixed pots, fall mums, hostas, hydrangeas, and even a few friendly cats roaming around. It’s peaceful, colorful, and full of charm. There’s something comforting about walking through rows of happy plants with someone who knows them all by heart.
Whether you’re getting your porch summer-ready or just looking to add a pop of color to your dock, Linda’s at Walnut Hill is where it starts. I always leave with more than I planned—and a better mood.

Our yard looks so good because of Linda’s — and because she tells me not to buy the stuff I’ll kill. That’s a true friend.
