My Favorite Plant Spot on Lake Martin: Linda’s at Walnut Hill

Auburn fans know there’s nothing like a good win — and nothing like the tradition that follows. Let’s talk about what it means to roll Toomer’s.

From real estate to local life, I’m always sharing what’s happening in Auburn. Let’s connect so you never miss what’s new around town!

One of Auburn’s traditions is ROLLING TOOMER’S CORNER after a big win. And no, it doesn’t just have to be football! We roll for ALL wins when it comes to our beloved Auburn Tigers and their sports teams.

“You’re Wasting Toilet Paper!” … or Are We?

Sounds silly to some, and I get the comment all the time—“You guys are wasting toilet paper!” But I like to call it creating memories. It’s about doing something that brings the entire community together.

Win a BIG game? People KNOW—to Toomer’s we go! We all hop in our cars and make our way downtown because it’s getting rolled. Yes, it’s childlike, but isn’t it fun to act like a kid every now and then?

For the record: Toilet paper removal is in the University’s BUDGET. Yep, I said it. FACTS.

Where Did It All Start?

Not exactly sure when this tradition started? There are RUMORS. But the most well-known story is that it began when Toomer’s Drugs had the only telegraph in town. Back then, during away football games, employees would receive the news of an Auburn victory and would throw the ticker tape from the telegraph onto the power lines.

I LOVE IT. Everyone is happy. You run into people you haven’t seen in years. There’s truly nothing else quite like it.

The Magic of Rolling Toomer’s

If you time it just right, you might even catch AUBIE rolling up in his golf cart. And let me tell you—the squeals from both kids and adults are contagious. It’s one of those moments that makes Auburn, Auburn.

So next time we win big, you know where to go. See you at Toomer’s!

Rolling Toomer’s isn’t just about the win — it’s about the joy, the laughter, the people. It’s about Auburn.
